AFC Fertilizer & Chemicals, Inc. is a 100% subsidiary company in the Philippines of Sojitz Corporation. Having seen the big potential of marketing fertilizer in the Philippines, it was fully acquired in July 2001 from a joint venture that started in April 1995.
It facilitates the importation of fertilizer and their raw materials for distribution in the local market. The company is now proudly the leading in the industry.
Sojitz deals with organic and inorganic chemicals, specialty and fine chemicals, raw materials for paint and adhesive, synthetic resins and other chemicals to importers, end-users and distributors here in the Philippines. These products come from reputable manufacturers and affiliates in Japan, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, USA and other parts of the world.

Another undertaking is our joint venture with Northern Chemicals Corp. - the Bay Tank Yard, Inc. Presently, Bay Tank Yard is the leading importer and distributor of Glacial Acetic Acid, distributing more than 2,500 MT per annum which represents 80% of the total Philippine market.

Sojitz Philippines supports the local textile industry by supplying the basic raw material requirements such as acrylic fiber, polyester textured yarn, nylon textured yarn, blend yarn, wool tops and even fabric. The materials come from Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia and China.
Sojitz has successfully established itself as the biggest exporter of Abaca fiber (Manila Hemp) to Japan. Together with our partners in Japan, we are pioneering the development of Abaca fiber from the traditional roping material to a blending material in the manufacture of security paper and bank notes. Aside from these, the company continues to furnish the Philippines with bristol/bond paper and has recently introduced photocopy paper made from Indonesia.
Sojitz Philippines serves the requirements of the local plywood industry with logs coming from our logging concessions in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
